There was a hospital in Brussels that had planned to replace and MRI scanner. The weight of it was five tonnes and on top of that it was located on the fourth floor. We had very limited space to work with a forklift truck, so we first jacked up the MRI scanner manually. We then rolled it unto a hoisting plateau. Finally, we hoisted it down through a window on the fourth floor to the safety of the ground.
The assignment was: replace an MRI scanner
We were not done when we got the old MRI scanner safely down. Of course, we also had to place the new scanner in its new location. The same method and tactics were used, but in reverse order. From the ground, hoisted up through a window on the fourth floor, from the platform cranked it up manually and rolled it into place. By the way, it all went off without a hitch.
Can we help you out too with moving heavy material in the correct way in an industrial move?
